There were several very popular questions in January. We’ve share the answers here, in hopes they will help you!
Q: Is there supposed to be a delay during the live presentation?
A: Yes. This is one of the best parts about using a Webinar. Instead of delivering a choppy, pixelated, hard to hear/see video, it buffers
the video for each individual’s bandwidth to provide the best viewing experience for all. More on that here.
Q: Is there any way to tweak the default wording for the Twitter post and Facebook post when the social sharing buttons are clicked? And on the FB share, can I change the preview picture to the webinar logo or my headshot versus the WebinarJam image that’s there, and also have my name?
A: Unfortunately, neither of these are possible at the current time. They are on the list of requested features, though!
Q: Is there a way to customize the “coming soon” page to fit more with my brand colors? Or at least change the copy?
A: In the “countdown” tab of the webinar creation, you can display a video on this page. Unfortunately, that’s the only modification that can be made.
Q: Is there a way I can edit the first couple minutes off the YouTube video that gets uploaded after a webinar? I thought YouTube had a “start at” option. I know you can do that by tweaking the video link, so would I tweak the replay link in my WebinarJam setup?
A: You can change the video settings on the replay tab. Replace the new URL in the space, then save and republish. Click here for a screenshot of what I’m talking about. Now, all links to the replay will show that video on the webinarJam page.
Q: In the “traffic analytics” section of a past webcast, can someone explain to me what the “unique visitors” stat refers to? I.E. Does it refer to all unique visitors to the live broadcast including not only registered viewers but also others who may have viewed via YouTube or Google+? Just want an idea of what that number signifies.
A: It’s unique IP visits to the registration page, live page and replay page.
Q: I took a month off from doing a webinar. Back then (in November), I had to go through some hoops to make it work. Has the old, simple functionality returned, or are are there still any surprises?
A: The functionality returned, about two weeks after the change Google made we were able to get the information needed from them about their API change that returned the webinar start process back to the previous method.
Q: What is the best way to capture the chat and questions at the end of a webinar. I attempted a copy and paste after the webinar was over and lost everything.
A: Very soon WebinarJam will have a Download Chat button that will pop at the end of the webinar
Q: What’s the easiest way to integrate affiliate sales into WebinarJam?
A: WebinarJam does not have an associated affiliate program, however, the affiliate program you use with whatever payment processor you use should work. Most affiliate programs are cookie-based. So, simply make your link for your affiliate point to your webinar page.
Q: Is it possible to screen share another browser tab while you’re on a Webinar? For example, with my webinar running, can I screen share another tab that has Twitter on it to do a tutorial?
A: Screen share will share the entire browser window, so yes, you can switch tabs while screen sharing. If you want to avoid sharing your WebinarJam interface, choose a separate browser window (and you can share multiple tabs within it).
Q: Every time I try to set up a new webinar starting with the general section, I lose the “registration” tab (it’s not even listed!). If I start with the “registration” tab first, it tells me to do the general section first.
A: If you set a webinar for right now, the “registration tab” disappears. If you schedule the webinar for later, it won’t disappear.
Q: I am using WebinarJam to record group coaching sessions. I am marking these videos as private, but they appear to be getting more views than there are members in the group. How can I ensure that these videos are ONLY for my subscribers in my group program? I know WJ was working on security functionality. What’s the latest?
A: Your members could be viewing the videos over. Also, while the videos are marked private on YouTube, the links can still be shared; there is no way to prevent YouTube videos from being shared. The only other solution is to download the videos and then privately host them. Lastly, you want to make sure to delete your posts on G+ so that others can’t see them.
