What is JamSession?
JamSession is your Virtual Meeting Arena. You can broadcast:
- your webcam
- your entire desktop
- specific applications
- prerecorded videos
- Up to 6 presenters
- invite attendees to become presenters
- and more.
WebinarJam’s JamSession room leverages the power of WebRTC and the video Recording and Streaming Expertise of YouTube.
NOTE: You will need to adjust some settings on your Google and YouTube account. Our article Setting up Your YouTube Account will help with that. Also be sure to test, including having a friend as an attendee, before your webinar event to confirm everything is set up correctly.

Important information
JamSession Channel Limits
The last channel you connected to will be the channel used on all your webinars. You will not be able to have different channels for different webinars, unless you reconnect for each change.
You will be limited to YouTube channels that are set up correctly. This allows you to work with personal YouTube accounts, Brand Channels and even Google Apps Domain Channels.
It is imperative that your channel is configured as instructed here:

If your settings are done correctly, but you are getting an error message indicating your YouTube and WebinarJam Account are not connecting, we recommend you visit YouTube.com/live_dashboard. While simply visiting the page, then reconnecting is often enough, you may want to adjust your privacy settings while you are there.

Summary version:
- YouTube channel set up correctly
- You can use personal YouTube channels, Brand Channels, and Domain App Channels.
- Last channel connected is good until you reset.
JamSession Presenter Limits
You are limited to 6 presenters at a time, including yourself as the webinar owner. All presenters will have “equal” space on the screen, unless one is displaying a presentation or you as webinar owner maximize a user. In this case, the screenshare will be displayed full screen while co-presenters will be thumbnails at the bottom.
Pre-recorded videos display full screen without thumbnails.
Your co-presenters are not required to have a gmail address.
- 6 Presenters at a time. Additional speakers need to be rotated out.
- Equally Split Screen, unless:
- Screensharing (co-presenters appear as thumbnails)
- Video playing (presenters can talk and see one another, but are not recorded)
- A presenter is maximized
JamSession Administrators
Both Webinar Owners and Room Administrators can maximize presenters, mute, and turn off the camera for themselves and other presenters.
Audio Video Selection
You should be able to use any USB or built in microphone and camera.
If you want to choose your microphone or camera, you will need to do so via your internet browser. You’ll look for the Camera Icon in your address bar, and you can choose a different camera or microphone from the drop down. The camera icon position changes based on browser and operating system.
